Here at the Home Office we are, once again, gearing up for what we call “Gold Book Season.” This is the time of year we do everything to make sure our data is as correct and up-to-date as possible as we prepare to print your 2001 Gold Book Directory. The Gold Book is a major project at the home office. Our staff manages many computerized reports and goes over your membership information with a fine tooth comb before the Gold Book goes to print. The Gold Book typically goes through three to five proofs before going to print. At that point our design staff that handles the layout and formatting of the data picks up the project.
Keeping your records up to date is an ongoing process throughout the year. At the Home Office we process over 500 address changes and over 1000 new Members each month. We have over 300 Members with different addresses during winter months, or who wish their Gold Book listing to be in a city other than their mailing address. In addition, we typically receive 150-200 pieces of returned mail each month due to bad address information. Typically, we make updates to our database relating to addresses between 1,500-2,000 times per month. (This doesn’t even include membership renewals, Rider Education Program Masters, event registration or GWRRA Wearhouse orders that have notes attached regarding address changes.
Again this year, we need your help to produce the best Gold Book ever. Please fill out the form below and mail it to the Home Office by Nov. 15, 2001, if any of the following conditions apply to you:
A. You live outside of the U.S. or Canada*.
B. You want your Gold Book listing to be in a city/state other than your mailing address.
C. You are a “snowbird” who has multiple addresses. If you would like for us to arrange for your Wing World to “follow” you to your snowbird address, please contact Member Services.
D. You have not been listed in previous years and would like to now be listed.
E. Your listing has been incorrect or omitted in the past.
F. You have moved, or your phone number has changed during the past year.
*Special request for our Members outside of the U.S. and Canada
Although we have made great strides in making the international Gold Book listings as accurate as possible, we know we have much room for improvement, especially with phone numbers. Please e-mail your address and phone number to susan@gwrra.org to assure you are listed properly.
Please keep in mind that to be listed in the Gold Book you must have a home phone number and, due to space restrictions, you may be listed in only one city.
